Minutes of the
East Yorkshire Ranger Council Annual General Meeting
held on Friday October 26th at Willerby

Units present :
Brough, Holderness,North Wolds East, Pickering and Wolfreton

Apologies for absence : Beverley

Election of Committee : this being the AGM, the following officials were nominated and returned unopposed:

Chairman : Mikaela Hulme (Holderness Rangers) Vice-chairman : Claire Wildsmith (Wolfreton Rangers) Secretary : Hannah Clixby (Holderness Rangers)

Matters arising from the last meeting : the minutes of both the last AGM and the last Ranger council meeting were unavailable but had been previously circulated and published on this website. There were no matters arising.

Future events :

Lightweight Camp Training : 10th & 11th November 2001 Beverley Youth Hostel Silly Chilly : 16th & 17th March 2002 B-P Challenge weekend : 19th & 20th April 2002 - for Guides but SS help wanted!

Events planned at last AGM had failed to materialise so it was agreed that each Ranger Unit would take responsibility for organising one event : suggested events so far :

Pioneering Day - Wolfreton Rangers - suggested dates 5th or 6th January 2002 Abseiling - Holderness Rangers - suggested date 10th February 2002 Tramps' Supper - Pickering North Rangers - to be combined with next Ranger Council meeting 16th February 2002 - Tramp fancy dress and fish-and-chip supper etc.

Other suggestions - crowd control at The Deep and trip on the Audrey or the Sobriety: The Deep has been approached but are unlikely to take up our offer and the Audrey is already fully booked for most of next year, so if we want a trip in 2003 we need to book EARLY! The Sobriety remains an alternative option but needs definite interest to be shown before a booking can be made.

Service Teams : In 2002 Flight is being held from 3rd to 10th August Guideacres and at least 500 campers are expected. Anyone interested in being a part of the service team for this event, helping with activities etc., should contact Sue Whittleton : you must be over 14. The cost to service team members will be only £35, to cover food etc.

Next meeting : 16th February 2002 at Derringham Bank, hosted by Pickering North Rangers, starting at 7pm. ; for instructions how to get there email Ann Allgood . This meeting will be followed by a Tramps Ball.

AOB : an email address list of Rangers and Ranger Guiders was compiled : to obtain a copy of this list or to join it contact Dianne Davies .

The new committee expressed their thanks to the outgoing chairman, vice-chairman and secretary, and also to Mandie Cross, Assistant County Commissioner, who attended the AGM on behalf of Sue Allsop, the County Commissioner.

There being no other business, the meeting closed at 9pm.
